Sonam Kapoor Had Two Outfit Changes For NYE, And Both Were Stunning
History books aren’t the only places where paradigm-shifting world events have been recorded. The wardrobes of those occupying the planet at that point in time are proof, too, of how the events affected their daily life. For the uninitiated, Christian Dior’s ‘New Look’ was a direct result of the effects of the second World War on the clothes of women. So, if one were to study the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the general populace, they’ll find that we have swapped everything for comfort. Athleisure and street-inspired style have become the jumping off points for inspiration, even for designers who once created intricate couture, and that are dressy and yet offer a move-around-the-house-without-tripping practicality have become our go-tos.
Case in point: Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s NYE outfits that to everyone’s surprise was a simple satin skirt set followed by a black kaftan. (Yes, there were two)
The tangerine skirt set is from the German designer Jil Sander’s namesake label that is best known for her signature minimalism and clean, uncomplicated silhouettes. The outfit, from the designer’s Fall 2020 collection, originally features a straight-fit skirt that falls all the way to the floor. It’s interesting that the skirt has been altered to fit more snugly on Sonam and to end around her ankles, enabling us to see her Amina Muaddi crystal sandals (that could be yours for just over 75k)

Her waist long hair was left loose with simple waves in them and she finished her look with a pair of crystal earrings.
Sonam also had an outfit change that was in line with the theme of the evening that clearly was about championing comfort. For her second look, the actor chose an anti-fit kaftan dress from a relatively newer Dubai-based womenswear brand, Taller Marmo.
She accessorized this look with vintage crystal earrings and a pair of mismatched bracelets in both hands.
Can we take a second to appreciate her simple, nude makeup, though? It cannot be discounted while talking about the looks!
Sonam, whose style has always been effortlessly chic, has embraced the pandemic way of dressing and taken it to new heights.
