Highlights From Day 5 Of FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week 2021
The last day of the LFW x FDCI was a spectacular display of a few of the country’s best and glamorous outfits. From intricate work to fun shapes and patterns, this day had it all.With stunning examples representing gender fluidity, the aspiring designers from Pearl Academy showed a promising line on the runway. Sanjukta Dutta’s white and bright collection shined through the beautiful silver and gold motifs on the primary base of white. Ranging from swirling lehengas to regal gowns, Mekhela Chador’s collection was a sight to behold. Varun Chakkilam’s collection drew inspiration from the art movement of the 18th century with beautiful colours ranging from the ever-popular feminine pink to serene teal. Shaveta and Anuj Choudhary’s collection introduced the impressive zardosi work on exquisite fabrics and highlighted craft at its best.
Inspired by Uzbekistan’s luxurious foliage, Gazal Mishra brought outfits with stunning thread work and zardozi embroidery on a palette with varying shades of burnt pink. Tantwamm by Abhishek and Vinita honoured the country’s textile wealth through the display of amazing weaves and prints on saris.
Defining new and modern in his collection, Pawan Sachdeva’s line was exactly what you would want from the outfits; versatility, comfort and fashion-forwardness. Taneira, the handcrafted textile brand celebrated the fusion of a myriad of crafts from the country ranging from Kashmiri embroidery to Kalamari work.
Ending the show with a blast, the grand finale designer Ruchika Sachdeva showcased her collection with perfect summer pastels through notable colour blocking techniques.This marked the end of a great show of talent. All five days stood out with their own unique collections and the amount of talent showcased on each day was noteworthy. Overall, this can easily be called one of the best shows that overcame the pandemic to bring their audience striking collections.
