New Delhi:

Shashi Kapoor's 1991 directorial venture Ajooba completed 30 years of its release in the Hindi cinema on Monday. Amitabh Bachchan, who played the lead role of Ajooba (Zaffar Ali Rizwan) in the 1991 superhero movie, is celebrating the occasion and his latest Instagram post is proof. The megastar shared a throwback picture of himself on the platform, in which he can be seen sporting his Ajooba costume against the backdrop of a mahal. Big B as Ajooba is all set to fight. In the picture, he is wearing a black metallic outfit and has paired it with a silver eye mask that has a feather attached to it on top. The actor also has a sword in his hands.

Revisiting Ajooba, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "30 years of Ajooba...how time has passed." See his post here:

On Twitter, Big B shared the same picture, however, wrote a different caption for it. He wrote, "30 years of Ajooba...saal gujarte rahe...sukh ki...kuch dukh ki...saathi chale gaye, yaadein bhar reh gayin (Many years have passed. Friends left, only memories have stayed)!"

Going by his tweet, it seems that Big B is missing his co-stars Rishi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Saeed Jaffery along with the Ajooba director Shashi Kapoor who are no more. Rishi Kapoor played the role of Hassan in the film. Shammi Kapoor was cast as Sultan Ali Rizwan Mohammad Dokeer Khan. Amrish Puri played Vazir-e-Ala and Saeed Jaffery was cast as a magician named Ameer Baba in the 1991 movie.

Ajooba also featured actors like Dimple Kapadia, Sushma Seth, Dalip Tahil, Dara Singh and Tinnu Anand including others. The movie was co-directed by Gennadi Vasilyev, a Soviet filmmaker. Ajooba was loosely based on Arabic folklore.

On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan celebrated 46 years of Chupke Chupke. Big B posted a throwback picture from the 1975 film on social media. In the caption, he revealed that the scene was shot at his bungalow Jalsa. Take a look at his post:
