The Indian designers behind Beyonce's look
Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy donned matching dresses for the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala held at Alexandria Ballrooms in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Queen Bey's mother Tina Knowles and her stepdad, Richard Lawson. For this star-studded affair, the singer was also accompanied by her husband Jay-Z and was honoured for her humanitarian work at the Gala. But there's an Indian link to Beyonce's much-talked-about look for the big event!
The 36-year-old singer and her 6-year-old daughter were dressed like royalty in colour coordinated outfits and Beyonce was spotted wearing a custom-made piece by none other than famous Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock. This time the theme for Gala was 'From Waco to Wakanda' and Beyonce's dramatic gold outfit totally stole the thunder.
The outfit was in a mermaid silhouette, while the see-through fabric featured geometric gold embellishments all-over. The bottom of the dress had a dramatic train, which was puffed and furled, to make it look like a metallic flower. The designers behind the look talked that about their inspiration and said, ''Between the metallic cutouts to the gold dramatic train, we attained an artistic statement while respecting the Nubian inspiration."
"We felt it was the perfect inspiration for such a strong woman like Beyonce and it's been an amazing experience to work with Beyonce's stylist Marni Senofonte to create such an iconic look," added Falguni.
This glided look of Beyonce not only grabbed attention but also looked fierce and powerful. Shane Peacock explained that they used metallic cutouts on the gold dress strategically to mimic the shape of an armour. Interestingly, this is not the first time the designer duo has worked with the iconic singer. They also created the famous black gown worn by the singer in her 'Formation' video.
