7 Essentials For A Romantic Date Night
Date nights are a necessity for a healthy relationship. Many swear that making them regular and frequent mended a strained relationship. They help you foster intimacy and communication, and deepen a bond with your partner. Here are the essentials that can make a date night romantic, effortless and straight up perfect.
1. Wine and Dine

If you like to drink together and often, consider shifting to drinking wine if you don’t already. Whether the two of you are planning a cosy night in or one out on the town, it can really help set the mood. Wines, especially the reds, are supposed to be symbolic of romance and their effects are similar to those of the hormones the body releases when in love. Wine is actually relatively kinder on your health as well.
2. Foodie Night
This has to be the most obvious item on the list. Even if it is a date at a bowling alley or a theme park, you are going to require replenishing. Go the extra mile and try to plan for foods that your partner loves (at least ensure they don’t hate what you have in mind). Cooking for your SO can also be absolutely adorbs.
If because of the pandemic, you have become habitual to stay at home or if you were always a homebody, there is a way to make dates fun from the comfort. Purchase a few games, boardgames, video games and such. These can also be charming as the “ritual” kind of dates. Brownie points if you can find games your partner has fond memories of!
If you are one of those couples who have a serious thing for movies, investing in a projector can be worth considering. You can get yourself extravagant equipment or an inexpensive projector along with the like of a bed sheet (for the screen) can work just fine. This will amp up the Netflix-and-chilling and you might just end up finishing movies together ;)
5. Picnic gear

If you and your partner are the outdoorsy type, or just like to go and have some down time in the open, regular dates out for picnics or hikes could be a very cute look for you. Make it a thing you two have, invest in the gear, proper picnic baskets, blankets and such or hiking backpacks, etc. It could be quite the bonding experience, to have a tradition of your own.
6. Dress For The Occasion
This is more of a mindset item. Take the time to look presentable for your SO. It doesn’t have to be all-out glam, full-blown makeup, 6-inch heels every time (unless that’s what you like) but taking the time to wear a fresh pair of clothes, ensure the hair is in place, accessorising, etc., letting them know you care about the time you spend together through subtle visual cues.
7. Wear A smile!
This is another mindset item, remember to try and keep a positive mood if you have had a long day your partner should not have to take the brunt of it on a date or if there had been an unresolved fight, a date is not the place to have at it. Consider cancelling instead if you know yours spirits won’t be high. Remember, your attitude on date night can impact your SO quite personally.
