We all love laccha paratha in our Indian platter. The layered, spiralled roti with loads of ghee instantly lifts up our meal, no matter what we pair it with. If you prefer naan over paratha for a special meal, you can make laccha naan too. Yes, that's right. The main difference between paratha and naan is that paratha is made with plain dough of wheat flour (atta), while naan is made with fermented dough of all-purpose flour (maida). The texture of laccha paratha imbibed in a tasty, fluffed-up naan is simply incredible!

Naan is made with fermented dough.
Laccha Naan Recipe:
1 cup maida
4 tbs curd
2 tbsp sooji (for crispiness)
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp cooking soda
Water for kneading
Step 1 - Knead dough with all the ingredients and let it rest for around 30 minutes.
Step 2 - Roll roti from dough. Coat the upper side with some melted butter. Sprinkle some dry flour on it.
Step 3 - Cut the roti into long thin strips (half inch) with the help of a knife. Collect all the strips, place them over one another and roll them in a circular disc. Now, roll the layered disc again with a rolling pin.
Step 4 - Coat one side of the naan with some water, and immediately put it on a hot tawa with water-coated side down on the tawa. Press the edges of the naan lightly so that it sticks to the tawa. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5 - Next, lift the tawa with the naan sticking to it and turn it upside down to cook the naan directly on the stove flame. This method makes tandoor-like naan on your tawa!
